User Journeys
Every step mapped before anything is drawn, built around the tasks that matter.
See Your App Before You Build It
Hire mobile app designers in Lagos, Nigeria, who have shipped real apps. DPX designs Android and iOS apps from the first idea to a clickable prototype you can test on your phone, then hands over a complete design file to your developers, or builds the app for you.

Design is included when DPX builds your app, on projects that start at ₦1,300,000 for Android and ₦1,500,000 for iOS. If you only need the design, for your own developers to build from, we quote per project after a short call, because the price depends on how many screens and user journeys the app has. You receive a clickable prototype to test and a complete Figma file your developers can work from.

A good-looking screen is the last step, not the first. We start with what the app has to do and who it is for, then map the journeys people will follow: signing up, finding what they came for, paying, and coming back. Those journeys become wireframes, plain layouts where the structure can be changed in minutes. Only then does the visual design begin: colour, type, icons and imagery, applied consistently across every screen. We also design the screens most people forget, such as empty lists, failed payments, slow connections and error messages. Those are the moments when users decide whether to trust an app or delete it.
Most people using a Nigerian app are on a mid-range Android phone, with limited storage, on data they pay for, on a network that drops. That changes the design. Buttons sit within reach of a thumb. Text stays readable in bright sunlight. Screens load useful content first and images after, and they make sense while something is still loading. Payment screens show clearly what happened when a connection fails, so nobody is left wondering whether they were debited. We check designs on real, modest devices as well as on the latest iPhone, and we follow the Android and iOS conventions people already know, so your app feels familiar from the first tap.
Design is the cheapest place to make a mistake. The prototype we deliver looks and behaves like a finished app, and you can open it on your phone and hand it to real customers before any code is written. Watching five people try to complete a task will show you what is confusing, and fixing it at this stage takes hours rather than weeks of development. A prototype is also useful beyond testing: founders use it to show investors and partners what they are raising money for, and to get accurate quotes from developers, because everyone is pricing the same thing.
You can hire us for either. If you already have developers, in-house or elsewhere, we deliver a complete Figma file with reusable components, every screen state and clear specifications, and we stay available to answer their questions during the build. If you do not, the same team carries your design through development, testing and publishing on Google Play and the App Store, which removes the usual arguments between a separate designer and developer over what is possible. Either way, the design files are yours. Starting with design does not commit you to building with us.
You should be able to judge a design team on real apps you can install, not on concepts made for a portfolio. Our work is live on Google Play, and it covers very different jobs: real estate investment with wallets and portfolios in PropCrowdy, comparing market prices in PriceAM, an AI assistant with church management tools in Viapa, and a community and marketplace app in Dimensions 2.0. Install any of them and see how they feel in your hand. If you are working on something similar, tell us on a call and we will show you the parts most relevant to your idea.

Design is included in every app we build, from ₦1,300,000 for Android and ₦1,500,000 for iOS. Design-only projects are quoted after a short call, because the price depends on the number of screens and user journeys.
It depends on the size of the app, and you get the timeline in writing before work starts. A focused app with a few core journeys is much quicker than a platform with several types of user, such as a marketplace with buyers, sellers and an admin side.
Yes. We deliver an organised Figma file with reusable components, screen states and specifications, and we can answer your developer’s questions during the build.
No, but it helps. A clickable prototype shows developers exactly what they are pricing, so quotes are more accurate and easier to compare.
You do. The Figma files and all the assets are handed over to you, and you can build the app with any developer you choose.
Yes. We start by reviewing the current app and how people use it, then fix what is causing the most trouble rather than changing everything at once.
